Marlys Barnard
GALLUP — Memorial services for Marlys A. Barnard, 70, will be 10 a.m., Monday, April 18, at All Saints Episcopal, Milan. The Rev. Martin Bayaang will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.
Barnard died April 7, 2011, in Gallup. She was born Jan. 1, 1940, in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Barnard graduated from Norman High School and UNM-Gallup with an associates degree. She was a member of the Daughter’s of the King Episcopal. She won two 1st and 2nd place ribbons at the bi-county fair, loved scrap booking and plastic canvases. Barnard was the leader of the Jr. Daughter’s of the King, member of Alter Guild, licensed Loy Eucharist minister.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny Barnard; sons, John Ray Barnard of Gallup, Michael Barnard of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughter, Lisa Robinson of Blanchard, Okla.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Barnard was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Haze Watson; brother, Mike Watson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All Saints Episcopal, The NM Special Olympics.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Roger Charley
MARIANO LAKE — Services for Roger J. Charley, 78, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, April 14, at Cope Memorial Chapel. Jones Dehiya will officiate. Burial will be in Rehoboth Cemetery. Visitation will follow service.
Charley died April 8, 2011, in Mariano Lake. He was born April 13, 1932, in Mariano Lake, into the Salt People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.
Charley did carpentry, maintenance and railroad. His hobbies included farming corn and squash, watching wrestling, hauling wood and picking pinons. He was well known in the community.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley A. Charley of Mariano Lake; sons, Ronald J. Charley, Jeffrey Charley, Anthony Begaye, all of Mariano Lake; daughters, Caroline A. Lee, Sharon Charley, both of Mariano Lake; brothers, Herbert J. Charley, Stanley H. Charley, both of Mariano Lake, Gerald R. Charley of California; sisters, JoAnne M. Lee, Beverly Desiduio, Linda Davis; 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Charley was preceded in death by Jake and Lillian Charley, Clifford Charley, Herbert M. Charley, Fannie C. Smith.
Pallbearers will be Ronald J. Charley, Jeffery J. Charley, Anthony Begay, Shawyn Charley, Sheldon Begay, Garrett Lee.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Mariano Lake Chapter House, following services.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Dennis Orr
FAIR GROVE, Mo. — Memorial services for Dennis Edward Orr, 64, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, April 16, at Assembly of God, Peace Chapel, Fair Grove, Mo. Brad McAfee will officiate.
Orr died April 10, 2011, in Fair Grove, Mo. He was born March 29, 1947, in Gallup.
Orr attended Gallup High School from 1965-1968. He retired from Southern Pacific Railroad in Tucson. He was employed by Fair Grove Public Schools as a bus driver.
Survivors include his sons, Daryle Orr of Fair Grove, Mo., Delton Orr of Tucson; daughter, Darla Orr of Tucson; brother, Kent Orr of Tonalea, Ariz.; sisters, Eltalene Crabb of Austin, Texas, Shirley Knight of Gallup; nine grandchildren.
Orr was preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Lois Orr.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Peace Chapel, following services.
James Wallace
GALLUP — Services for James W. Wallace, 78, will be 10 a.m., Friday, April 15, at Rollie Mortuary, Gallup. The Rev. Randy Bourn will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at Rollie Mortuary.
Wallace died April 10, 2011, in Albuquerque. He was born July 10, 1932, in Gallup.
Wallace was a Navy veteran who served from 1953 on board the USS Currier. He was honorably discharged on Sept. 9, 1955. He received the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal. Wallace retired as a local businessman. He was a member of Mason, Elks, and government employee for 20 years.
Survivors include his son, Steven L. Albera; daughters, Henrietta F. W. Torres, Lynelle Vautier, Lisa Jo Templin, Sylvia O’Brien, Cynthia M. Dooley, Teresa L. Hagerich, Krista Pachuca; brother, Robert Wallace; sisters, Ollie Sepich, Peachie Piano; 22 grandchildren.
Wallace was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Wallace; parents, James H. Wallace, Emily Wallace; brother, Fredie Wallace; sisters, Mildred Leahy, Nellie Yurcic.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Food Pantry, Cancer Center, VFW Gallup, Little Sisters of the Poor.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
